I appreciate this and especially like the Gardner quote. I want to add that in order to pay the bills with your Onlyness then your meaning has to overlap with what’s meaningful for others. When you can find that overlap and tell that story you’re on to something!
That's definitely an ideal, but it doesn't mean we can't have meaning, without that overlap. And, based on 7 years of studying 300 case studies, I found that most times these two things don't line up at the beginning of new meaningful endeavors.
I agree. I found my meaningful work years before I found where it overlapped with others and revenue. But if I had been hung up on the money I wouldn't have gotten here! To quote The Fixx, "One thing leads to another..."
