Asking how people prefer to be recognized is an important one. Some people prefer recognition behind closed doors and are embarrassed by public recognition. Others want the team or organization to know and find that validating. A third group feel verbal recognition is "blah, blah blah" - if you like my work, show me the money. It can be useful to ask which form or recognition the new hire prefers - public, private or some form of compensation or time off.

I do this but also add hobbies and interests ...great share
