Hi Nilofer, two points of yours below really struck me:

"Because for workplaces to be fully alive? The goal is to *fix* the game, not hate the players."

"It’s more often the structures and systems we’re operating in that are making us do crappy things. We have far too many outdated metrics and specific management frameworks that, well, don’t work."

Both insights you revealed showed me why I was so resigned in my own work life, until global shifts last year "promoted" me to do something new. The best culture builders and leaders I've admired at work were shut down when they came to the realizations you just shined light on. They gave up because there's no external community (of committed, honest value...and maybe influence?) to rely on. Or, to source practical help to dig themselves out from the layers of outdated infrastructure overwhelm you mentioned.

Maybe our charge as readers is to explicitly assist in changing that? I'll be spreading word of your writing-teaching-wisdom here more regularly, going forward. Have an awesome holiday break, in the meantime.

Oh Nilofer Merchant when I thought I couldn't love your work around #Onlyness more.

We get to understand and unlock our own Onylness as you continue to weave and further clarify yours. THIS is meaningful. THIS matters. THIS can and will change the world.
